The Alberta duPont Bonsal Foundation

PURPOSE

PROVIDING THE SUPPORT TO PURSUE A DREAM

"This vibrant contemporary woman inspired those who followed her to establish the Alberta duPont Bonsal Foundation so that her legacy will foster new visions." Gough W. Thompson Jr. President

The Alberta duPont Bonsal Foundation celebrates the memory of a woman whose vitality was a defining force in every life she touched. Alberta looked to the future with a hope and optimism that kept growing. She encouraged people of all ages to cultivate their ideas and pursue their goals.

The Alberta duPont Bonsal Foundation supports the the lives and work of outstanding women artists who have not yet obtained national recognition.

The goal of the Foundation is to provide grants annually to an artist and a poet at a time in her career when such aid can be put to greatest use. In addition to cash grants, the Foundation seeks to raise the profile of award recipients - working closely with major U.S. museums to acquire their works, as well as underwriting exhibitions and publications, such as catalogues for visual artists, and books for poets. With this goal in mind, the Foundation has developed relationships with the finest museums, academic institutions, galleries, and publishing houses to locate the most promising women artists and poets.

Beyond sponsoring the careers of emerging women artists and poets, a broader mission of the Alberta duPont Bonsal Foundation is to foster connections across genres, and to stimulate the exploration of the relationship between text and image.

The continued success of the AdBF is dependent upon our ability to grow membership and raise funds for cash awards to women artists and poets. The foundation would be most interested in having you join at any donor level. Please see the link above to donate.
